There's not too much traffic on this list, so I thought it would be
okay if I shared that I was going to this in hopes of finding some
good data to play with / people to talk to about municipal
data-sharing projects. If I find anything good, I'll share back with
the list.
I'm very interested if any of you run across data which could easily
be scraped and shared. let me know if anyone sees any info that is
released in a consistent format at their cities. someone here might
be able to transform it into something more useful for you.

Montreal BACC* on track: The role and power of the community
(*BACC = Borough, Agglomeration, City Councils)
Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 9am-4pm
On the heels of the Parc avenue debate, COCo brings you an event to
help English-speaking, bilingual, and/or ethnocultural community
groups in Montreal engage with our city, boroughs and neighbourhoods
for social change. Whether your organization is completely isolated or
is already participating with governance bodies that make up the City
of Montreal, we hope that the day will nourish participants with
information that will support them in their pursuit of a more
inclusive participatory vision of the city.
Join us as we:
* Clarify new city structures
* Reflect on issues and trends currently affecting municipalities
* Investigate methods for engagement and how they can be used to help
us advocate for change
Click here for the poster. Venue: Edifice Georges Vanier, 2450 Workman
(metro Lionel Groulx). Lunch will be provided. This is a FREE event,
but space is limited. To register or for more information, contact
