WWF's Conservation Science Program is currently developing a new and innovative global hydrological database, termed HydroSHEDS - "Hydrological data and maps based on SHuttle Elevation Derivatives at multiple Scales."

HydroSHEDS is based on high-resolution elevation data obtained during a Space Shuttle flight for NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM).

1st data sets will be available april 1st.
