Yes, reading the OpenGovData principles at about this time last year was one of the factors that motivated me to start VisibleGovernment.ca.

The opengovdata discussion group, while very quiet, is also top-notch.  It was neat - in the most recent discussion I had there, the author of the wired wiki replied:

By the way, we've been doing a sort-of weekly Open Government Data roundup on the VG blog that's already flagged many of the recent links posted.
