Yes i understand you unimpressedness, however in the context of the UK which has the most regressive cost recovery policies in europe, and has unfortunately led many nations in its direction over the years, this is absolutely ground breaking.

It is worth looking at the historical evolution of this and not just the one point in time!

Seems like pretty weak stuff.  'more widely available' could mean anything.  I prefer the open government data charter, here:
