new favorite dataset - Canadian Disaster Database

Michael Lenczner-2
I was trolling through the federal Public Safety website (as I am wont to do) and I came across this beaut. I thought that this was a database for disaster preparation, but it's actually a database of previous Canadian disasters.

Re: new favorite dataset - Canadian Disaster Database

Rocha, Roberto (Montreal Gazette)

Neat, though quite incomplete and out of date. I browsed briefly though the Quebec subset. No Lac-Megantic disaster. It has the Richelieu flood of 1972 but not of 2011. And most fields that would make it really interesting (number of people affected, damages, fatalities) are null.
