Is A0A1A0 a valid postal code?
Sites that don't recognize it: http://www.elections.ca/home.asp http://ridings.ndp.ca/en http://www.greenparty.ca/en/find_your_riding Sites that do: http://www.conservative.ca/EN/1051 http://www.liberal.ca/ http://www.cbc.ca/news/canadavotes/ http://www.parl.gc.ca/common/index.asp?Language=E Can anyone shed some light on what's going on here? d. |
It's might be a watermark, like when a book publisher intentionally
misspells a word in order to assert copyright. Canada post says: http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pcl/bin/range-e.asp GD AQUAFORTE NL A0A 1A0 I wonder what "delivery mode" GD means... as there are no other addresses associated with it. Hard to say if it is legitimate... it could just be that canada post is using the same data source as the others. Where do the geocoders place it? Does anyone have a geometry associated with A0A? FYI. GD means General Delivery. It is used in small communities where
there are no street addresses. Thus there being no addresses associated with it. I would imagine that it is a legit postal code. I know often Canada Post doesn't have northern postal codes recorded properly in their system. I have more then once been told by Canada Post employees that the Yukon postal codes I have given them "aren't in canada" Ilona On 10-Oct-08, at 11:34 PM, Cory Horner wrote: > It's might be a watermark, like when a book publisher intentionally > misspells a word in order to assert copyright. > > Canada post says: > > http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pcl/bin/range-e.asp > > GD AQUAFORTE NL A0A 1A0 > > I wonder what "delivery mode" GD means... as there are no other > addresses associated with it. > > Hard to say if it is legitimate... it could just be that canada > post is using the same data source as the others.
