For you girl geeks that have been developing some cool tools this might be for you!
*******************************************
In the last few years, with all the start-ups being created in Silicon
Valley, very few of the entrepreneurs seemed to be women! When the
founders of
Women 2.0 noticed this, they knew something should be done to encourage the many capable women in the area that they can do it too!
Luckily for us, Women 2.0 reaches far beyond the borders of California with events like
Women 2.0 Startup Competition - Pitch 2009. "Pitch 2009 is the
most-anticipated Women 2.0 event - a unique
startup competition open to early-stage ventures. We
accept submissions globally from high-growth business ventures in web 2.0, mobile, bio tech, consumer clean tech, and consumer hardware."
I hope some of you talented CU-WISE members might consider taking
part in this exciting event. If you plan on putting a team together,
let us know at
[hidden email]!
We had the pleasure of meeting Women 2.0's Event Producer at the Grace
Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, and can therefore help get
answers to any questions you may have.
