In the UK, you can get data on how much various drugs are prescribed
AT THE PRESCRIBING PRACTICE LEVEL[1].
In the UK, you can take this data and try and figure out
better/cheaper ways of getting drugs to patients.
Some people have done this already[2], and believe that they have
found £200 million in savings.
Is similar data available in Canada?
Oops, sorry: I forgot I was in Canada: Is similar data available from
any of the provinces? ;-)
I am simply amazed and impressed that this level and type of
information is available as Open Data.
But the real genius is making the data available to people who can
effectively crowd source intelligent analysis to help inform policy.
[Gods forbid we use data and facts to drive policy! ;-) ]
