Updated the page, you'll find the new stuff well marked, also added 2 new sections, one on Law, and another on research. Starting to see lots of principles, evaluation, and some private sector interest. There must however be more private sector projects kicking around? We will need to see some successful businesses soon of that promise that taxes will offset the cost of open data will not bear fruit. True, early days yet, I see consultants poping up here and there as well. Let me know if I missed anything.t _______________________________________________ CivicAccess-discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.pwd.ca/mailman/listinfo/civicaccess-discuss |
Given I write a fair bit on open data would be nice to see a place where my blog could be cited.

Hi Tracy,
Wrote you to mention this once before, I don't mean to be a pest about it. :) Guelph's open data page was taken down, so the link on datalibre goes nowhere. Guelph is relaunching a larger open gove project starting early 2014, so it will be back eventually. The Guelph Coffee And Code link is also dead. Thanks for keeping this great resource up to date, it is immensely helpful. Cody ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tracey P. Thanks Cody! Done, i cancelled it and put it at the end of the list to maintain a record. I added the link to the twitter group for coffee and code. Sorry for the bother! I Know Carl! My knowledge is limited. But alas, the permance of this archaic process has meant that we have a record, while the others (wikipedia, oknf catatalog of catalogs, oknf map, and so on) which are using somewhat dynamic content, have provent inaccurate. My next project is to add dates to these things. On Mon, Nov 11, 2013 at 11:46 PM, Karl Dubost <[hidden email]> wrote:

Wow. Great list! I think Open Data Society of BC (OpenDataBC) would be better located in the civil society section. Thank you, Herb

Hi all,
There is now a Dgroup (international development discussion space - [hidden email] ) for Canadian organizations thinking about or planning to share and use open aid data (esp. in the IATI standard format). It builds upon some of the recent international development open data hackathons and events in Canada. Over the coming weeks we'll continue to add resources and upcoming aid transparency events to the website. --> To signup goto: http://aidtransparency.ca [ As a background Dgroups is an emailed based discussions platform and foundation maintained by 18 international development organizations around the world. The OGP civil society list is moving to Dgroups. The platform originated in Canada and was started by Bellanet c/o IDRC back in the late 90s'. ] More news to follow shortly. Thanks so much for this page Tracey. I have some updates for you from Windsor. Our local hackerspace has an Open Data special interest group, and we've been doing some work, albeit on a small scale:http://hackf.org/opendatawindsoressex/ http://www.citywindsor.ca/opendata/Pages/Open-Data-Catalogue.aspx http://opendata.citywindsor.ca/api/BusStops?lat=42.31755009&lng=-<a href="tel:83.04321027" value="+18304321027" target="_blank">83.04321027 http://opendata.citywindsor.ca/api/BusStops/110 (all bus stops for route 110) http://opendata.citywindsor.ca/api/BusStops?lat=42.31755009&lng=-83.04321027 (closest bus stops to those coordinates) http://opendata.citywindsor.ca/api/Residents?address_startsWith=100 (addresses in ward 7 that start with 100) http://opendata.citywindsor.ca/api/Polls/6?wardNumber=7 (returns poll info for poll 6 in ward 7) So, I offer at hat-tip to the City of Windsor. And to you all as well ;) Mita
