   The CBC has been on both sides of this debate as well.  One of the
good things about them not getting the Olympics is that we have a small
period of time where they aren't on the wrong side of the debate -- the
Olympics (as far from a public institution as you can get -- not worth
watching or even acknowledging) has been pushing DRM stuff pretty heavily.

   Long term this is a good thing -- it will eventually get people past
thinking the Olympics is something that brings the world together, and
instead is just another example of some of the extreme ideologies that
separate various people in the world.
