The Access Principle and other resources

This morning I came across a blog post, entitle "Does Information want to be free?" (http://historycompass.wordpress.com/2010/02/03/does-information-want-to-be-free/) not written by computer scientists or engineers but by historians!

The principle for open access of scholarly works comes from academics and librarians.  Via this article I came across the following excellent resources:
