Story about a road, public officials & workers knowledge, and gov data.

I read these stories from time to time, and this is a classic story of the winding pathways one has to go to find data about public infrastructure.

Very interesting Tracey,

Is it a story about not being able to find the info or a story about the courts resolving a dispute about what the info means?

"The club’s lawyer, John Nelson, filed affidavits, government records, old maps, a Crown land grant from 1897 and letters from highway officials to the ranch, asking that the gate be removed. The respondents have 21 days to reply to the petition, which is based on allegations not yet tested in court."

But here's an article from a year earlier where the group found information they considered quite convincing...

"Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club members say information obtained through the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act proves the public has the right to access Stoney and Minnie lakes through a long-disputed road."
