La Bibliothèque de l’Université Carleton et la Bibliothèque de l’Université d’Ottawa, en partenariat avec Bibliothèque et Archives Canada, organisent une conférence d’une journée, la Journée d’information gouvernementale, le jeudi 26 octobre 2017 au 395, rue Wellington, au centre-ville d’Ottawa.

 

L’an dernier, la journée Government Information Day (site en anglais seulement) s’est déroulée à l’Université de Toronto. En 2017, nous marquons le 5e anniversaire de cette édition de l’est de la conférence alors que le Canada fête son 150e anniversaire de la Confédération. La capitale nationale était donc l’endroit tout désigné où tenir l’événement. La conférence sera axée sur les grands thèmes « Accès à l'information et aux données gouvernementales à une époque où l'ouverture par défaut règne » et « Préservation et accès accrus – l'information et les données gouvernementales hors du gouvernement », soutenus par des présentations et des groupes d’experts représentant différentes communautés et perspectives.

 

La Journée d’information gouvernementale se veut une tribune où des dirigeants, des journalistes, des chercheurs, des étudiants et des bibliothécaires éclairés se réunissent pour explorer des moyens de collaborer et pour se pencher sur les possibilités et les défis émergents et actuels dans le domaine de l’information gouvernementale au Canada.

Save the date!

 

The Carleton University Library and the University of Ottawa Library, in partnership with Library and Archives Canada (LAC), are organizing a one-day conference, Government Information Day, scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at LAC’s 395 Wellington Street location in downtown Ottawa.

 

Last year, Government Information Day was held at the University of Toronto. This year represents the 5th anniversary of the eastern edition of this conference and also marks the 150th anniversary of Confederation, making the nation’s capital the ideal host for this year’s event. The conference will focus on the broad themes of Access to government information and data in an era of open by default and Extending preservation and access - government information and data beyond government, with presentations and panels from diverse groups and perspectives.

 

Government Information Day is designed as a forum for thought leaders, journalists, researchers, students, and librarians to explore how we can collaborate and engage with emerging and ongoing challenges and opportunities in the field of government information in Canada.
