Represent helps you find the elected officials and electoral boundaries for any Canadian address or postal code. Open North has been offering this free service for over two years and has been used by many of Canada’s largest nonprofits and unions, and we’re happy to make a few announcements about recent improvements.

*1. New website*

http://represent.opennorth.ca now better describes the benefits and uses of the service and makes it easier to find what you’re looking for. Check it out!

*2. CSV downloads*

A frequently requested feature was to download all representatives’ contact information as a spreadsheet. You may now download all or part of our data from represent.opennorth.ca/data/

*3. Much more data*

We have over 80% of all electoral boundaries at all levels of government (by population), up from 50% at the beginning of the year. We now track elected officials in over 70 municipal councils, in addition to all provinces and the House of Commons.

*4. Better quality data*

We now have much better processes for collecting, updating and validating data about elected representatives, making it easier for our team to fix any issues and keep everything up-to-date.

We frequently receive requests to integrate Represent into nonprofits’ websites. If you are a web consultant and are interested in such contracts, please contact us so that we may refer business to you.
