What he wants is the GTFS file of the OC: http://data.ottawa.ca/en/dataset/oc-transpo-schedules This is a standard file format used by Google Maps for trip planning, and adopted by several transit agencies worldwide. The zip file will have seven files. The one called stops.txt has the ID, name and lat/lon coordinates of each stop. Hi guys, Is there a reliable way to map ALL of the bus stops by coordinates (and then saved by server cache or other mechanism)?...Is there a KML file or other that can be used or does data need to be "harvested" from the API (I use the term harvest loosely as I know it is against TOS)? Note (broken-record-here) that the City of Ottawa terms of use is NOT an Open Data license. It has an indemnification clause that has the potential to bankrupt a developer or company: http://ottawa.ca/en/mobile-apps-and-open-data/terms-use#terms "If, as a result of your breach of these Terms of Use, the City gets sued or is required to pay someone money, you agree to protect the City and reimburse the City for everything which you cause the City to suffer. This means that you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City and all of its agents from any and all liabilities incurred in connection with any claim arising from any breach by you of these Terms of Use, including reasonable legal fees and costs. You agree to cooperate fully in the defence of any such claim. The City reserves the right to assume, at its own expense, the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. You agree not to settle any matter without the written consent of the City." Which is interesting as Google only accepts GTFS data under their own terms which I think excludes liability. One rule for Google and one for everyone else? Cheerio John On 3 February 2015 at 15:40, Glen Newton <[hidden email]> wrote:
