Canadian survey on
geospatial data quality until May 4th, 2012
We invite you to participate to a Canadian survey on geospatial
data quality and the approaches
used to manage the risks arising when the data are used. It is the first extensive study conducted
on this question. This study is relevant because the high penetration of geospatial and location
technologies on the market raises
important legal, ethical and
technical considerations.
The survey is conducted as part of an important
research being realized within a
project funded by the Canadian Network
of Excellence GEOIDE, in partnership
with several Canadian organisations (CIT-S,
Géoconnexions, Infrastructure Canada,
Transport Canada,
Transport Québec, Hydro-Québec and Groupe Trifide). Participation of all members of the Canadian geomatics community is essential in order to provide a realistic picture of the current situation. We count
on your collaboration to achieve this.

Please note that this survey ends on Friday, May 4th inclusively.
The results will be presented during the International workshop on geospatial data quality
(Legal, ethical and technical aspects)
who will be held from Friday, May 18th 2012 (http://www.mc2.ulaval.ca/geoide/paypal) in Quebec City. They will be available also later on the project website (http://dataquality.scg.ulaval.ca).

Sondage sur la qualité des données
géospatiales en ligne jusqu'au 4 mai 2012
Nous vous invitons à
participer à un sondage scientifique actuellement mené à l’échelle du
Canada sur la qualité des données géospatiales et les approches de gestion des
risques inhérents à leur utilisation. Aucune autre étude de cette envergure sur
ce sujet n’a été effectuée à ce jour. Elle est pertinente puisque la
forte pénétration des données géospatiales et des technologies géomatiques sur
le marché soulève d’importantes considérations juridiques, éthiques et
techniques.
Ce sondage est réalisé
dans le cadre d’importants travaux de recherche actuellement menés au
sein d’un projet financé par le Réseau canadien d’excellence GEOIDE
en partenariat avec plusieurs organisations canadiennes (CIT-S, Géoconnections,
Infrastructure Canada, Transport Canada, Transport Québec, Hydro-Québec et
Groupe Trifide). La participation de tous les
membres de la communauté géomatique canadienne est essentielle afin de pouvoir
dresser un portrait réaliste de la situation actuelle. Nous comptons
