Re: CivicAccess-discuss Digest, Vol 65, Issue 11

Ted Strauss
Thanks Tracey for sharing these recent items, especially the conference proceedings,
which looks amazing.

Question. Are people on this list aware of the International Open Data Day that appears to
be planned for Feb 23, 2013 -- http://opendataday.org/
There is some activity on the project wiki (http://wiki.opendataday.org/Main_Page) but
perhaps not as much as I'd expect for an event that's ~2 months away.
I'm ready to help organize this for Montreal, if anyone on this list is involved or wants to
be, please reply so we can make this happen.

Hi Ted,

Stéphane Guidoin is currently leading the planning for an event in Montreal, and is coordinating with Quebec Ouvert, Capitale Ouverte and Gatineau Ouvert. He's in cc if you'd like to help in the event planning.

Cheers,

James

Re: CivicAccess-discuss Digest, Vol 65, Issue 11

David Eaves
Hi Ted,

Thrilled to hear you are interested in helping organize an event in Montreal.

One note about  the wiki only went live about 24 hours ago, so getting 14 cities in the first 24 hours is actually quite good. In previous two years, most people only started posting locations about 4-5 weeks before the event, so comparatively speaking we are ahead of schedule. I think we have a good chance of hitting 40 cities+ again this year.

Cheers,
Dave
