Cory, who's paying for the PCFRF file? Or are you scraping it from somewhere? Is the postal code to federal riding data updated every 6 months?

I'm asking since I was finally getting around to offering this as a cost recovery service for some organizations who need the data. But I'm not going to bother if there is stable free provider.

Hi Folks,

I am pleased to present, at long last, a Postal Code to Member of Parliament web service:

http://howdtheyvote.ca/news.php?i=free-postal-code-lookup-service

Sadly the raw data cannot be shared, but fortunately the terms of the licence dictate that its use in a web service is permitted.

Cheers,
Cory.

I purchased a postal code centroid data file ($150), which I am combining with the riding geometries (free).  There is no scraping, and the licence of the postal code data leads me to believe I am in the clear, as it permits use in a "lookup application" if a reasonable daily limit per IP is imposed.

Cheers,
Cory.
