All,
Just short heads-up to let people know (or remind them!) that
Open Data is on the agenda for the IT-Sub Committee meeting Monday March 01 at
1:30pm (or 15min after the conclusion of the Transit Committee meeting) in the
Champlain Room in the Heritage building here at City Hall.
The IT Sub-Committee is made up of a number of Councillors and reports
to the Corporate Services Economic Development Committee, which in turn reports
to Council. Chris Day, the Chief of Corporate Communications, will be co-presenting
on Open Data at the City, giving it some context by highlighting what’s
going on around the world and in North America. He will also be speaking to specific
drivers for the City of Ottawa and what we have done so far re: Open Data.
This is not a full report to Council, rather, it is a way to
communicate to Council what is going on in the world and more close to home vis
à vis Open Data. The meeting is open to the public; if you are interested in
seeing the initial reaction of some Council members to the Open Data concept, I
would encourage you to attend.

In any event, we will be looking to connect with everyone again soon…..
