Yes. OpenSecrets is done by the Center for Responsive Politics. The former ED of CRP is now one of the founders of the Sunlight Foundation.
Formerly, Center for Responsive Politics had the non-profit business model of collecting information from hard-to-get-to places and re-selling it to reporters and other interest groups. They've just now opened up their entire data catalouge, with the support of Sunlight:
