1. Thanks for the links to get the shapefiles from the API's. Yes, I can convert them to MySQL using various open source tools.

2. Looking forward to using your tools, and I'll contact you about any large amount of bulk work. James, you must be right about the number of problematic postal codes being in the thousands rather than hundreds of thousands - as I said this was years ago and I wasn't sure of the exact number, just that it was surprisingly large. I do distinctly recall one postal code showing up in seven ridings in the file from Elections Canada though. Geocoder.ca seems to have a different algorithm than StatsCan, which was using an algorithm they had lots of reasons for at the time but that didn't .
