https://www.stat.washington.edu/people/klimova/indexW.html"This is the first time a workshop on this topic is offered at the
SIAM International Data Mining Conference. Data mining in official
statistics is a relatively new research field. We anticipate bringing
together statisticians who work with official data and data mining
specialists who develop methods of the analysis of large data sets.
Our invited and contributed presentations are aimed to explore
possibilities of data mining that can be applied to official data. For
example, we will explore how learning data patterns could reduce the
need of new data collection and how patterns of association revealed
from official data can be potentially used in evidence-based policy
making."
The data must be made available before it can be mined....
