verifiable population projections based on open data for community members

Warren Munroe
Hello Civic Accessers,

For those of you interested in issues related to population projections to the community level (i.e. Official Community Plans, water works, opening closing of public and private facilities etc.), here is a link to the Population Projection Project for Canada's census areas (beta version), for your comments and suggestions...

http://www.wminfomatics.com/PopulationProjections/CND.html

... presented during the "Methods for Projections" session hosted by the Canadian Population Society, at the 2013 Congress organized by the Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Click on the animated age / sex distribution projections and the pop signatures, and drill down, from Canada's pop projection to the oldest (in terms of median age) municipality in Canada (highlighting what will happen as the boomers age out of the pop pyramid).

happy looking into the projected future,(assuming fertility, life expectancy, and net migration stay the same),

Warren
