Genesis Public Opinion Research Inc.,

Tracey P. Lauriault

“It’s a numbers game. The election can turn on a dime. Ethnics play a key role in this and happen to be living in the ridings that are close,” said David Crapper, president of Genesis Public Opinion Research Inc., the Conservatives’ official pollster in the 2006 election. http://www.racialicious.com/2008/10/09/race-in-the-electionin-canada/

Anybody have the paid for linked in service to check out his profile?  This company has no Internet Footprint that I can see.

Crazy!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decima_Research
Decima Research is a public opinion and market research company in Canada, founded in 1979 by Progressive Conservative Party of Canada
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decima_Research

So this is who produced the numbers in the Conference Board of Canada Report?

Mr. Crappa was former president and is co owner of decima.

So two companies, same guy, not Internet Footprint, both with standing offers with the feds public opinion research
9 seperate standing offer agreements for decima
See the types of opinions being shaped!

Oye Veigh!

Re: Genesis Public Opinion Research Inc.,

Ted Strauss
Great digging Tracy.
Having read a bit more of the report, it's important to clarify exactly what numbers came from Genesis.
Genesis did a public opinion poll asking Canadians about their use of mailing products, levels of satisfaction, expectations, comparison to private couriers, opinions about policy ideas, etc.
The results are given in chapter 5, and they show a wide diversity of opinions from Canadians about
Canada Post. For example, the figure below is a perfectly even division of opinion.
Whereas the conference board argument for cancelling door service is mostly economic, the
data from Genesis contributes by saying Canadians are not strongly attached to their mail service,
and we have covered our bases by verifying this with a nice poll.
But given the context of the report and the Mr. Crapper's affiliation with the party, it's conceivable
that some survey results have been omitted or obfuscated in the report.
Best thing would be to get the raw polling data.

Nice one ted! Also the econometric data.  in addition, more detailed financial reports, and a Canada post client list.
