Today is the big day!
When we put the call out to see if people were interested in organizing ‘Stand up for Science’ events in their cities, we expected to have 2-3 events. The excitement and support for this initiative far surpassed our expectations, and as a result, today there will be 17 stand up for science events across the country!!
Scientists and supporters of science will be rallying across the country, from coast to coast, to stand up for science in the public interest. We’re rallying because we want government decisions to be based on the best available evidence, not ideology or political convenience. We’re rallying because we think public scientists should be able to communicate their publicly-funded research to the public. And we're rallying because there have been cuts to scientific and evidence gathering institutions that are critical to keeping Canadians informed about their health and wellbeing.
To have a strong impact we need you to participate! Here are the ways you can help:

2. Send a message to your MP and the party leaders asking them to Stand Up for Science! (click here to send a message)
