Day one report:
By shear statistical chance I got seated beside Tony Clement on the 12 hour flight down (what are the friggin odds!).
Invited to drinks and dinner at the Canadian Embassy with Ambassador to Brazil Jamal KhoKhar. Dined and conversed on the high security grounds of the residence. About 8 of us in total. David Eaves, Toby and Mike Gurstein were there as well but Toby did not stay for dinner. Nice chat about civil society perspectives. Tomorrow, get to meet ans see Hillary Clinton. Busy busy...
Got on a OGP panel that will speak to Civil Society service delivery perspectives where your slide deck Tracey, will be used. Also presenting to audience of several 100 (Clement's staff indicated possibly about 1000) at tomorrow's INNOVATION VILLAGE. I have 10 minutes to shine or sink. Finally on a side unrelated to OGP, but I have been invited to a meeting friday AM before my flight to the equivalent of the FCM down here. They wish to learn from us and ditto on some of the apps and data programs. This jsut through some networking.
Brasilia is alien to me. More on that later... :)
