Making all voices count
Making All Voices Count: A Grand Challenge for Development is a global initiative that aims to catalyse the globe to deepen existing innovations and help harness new technologies to enable citizen engagement and government responsiveness to improve government performance. Making All Voices Count aims to fund collaborative efforts rather than one-sided approaches.


CALL FOR PROPOSALS ///

Making All Voices Count is pleased to announce its first call for the submission of proposals. This call for proposals will be open from September 24 until November 8, 2013 at 18:00 o’clock South Africa time (GMT +2). Selected grantees are expected to be announced by January 24, 2014.

More detailed information can be found on our website in the grant manual, available through www.makingallvoicescount.org. 

Proposals will be assessed based on:
The degree to which the proposed activities and objectives are in line with the overall programme objectives of Making All Voices Count
A demonstration that the activities will have a clear and direct impact in one or more of the following countries: Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda
The use of innovative approaches, including but not limited to mobile, internet and web-based technology
A clear demonstration of a partnership between at least two parties (such as between civil society organization(s) and government)
A results-based monitoring and evaluation approach and sound financial plan

Applications will only be considered if they are submitted via the online grant application form by November 8, 2013 at 18:00 o’clock South Africa time 
(GMT +2).

We especially welcome applications that would address the disparities faced by members of traditionally marginalized populations and persons with disabilities and reflect approaches that directly incorporate their participation.

Making All Voices Count is implemented by a consortium consisting of Hivos (lead organisation), the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and Ushahidi. Making All Voices Count is supported by USAID, DFID, Omidyar Network, SIDA and Open Society Foundations.
