STO21 -Spatial Data Analyst https://search.employment.gov.bc.ca/cgi-bin/a/highlightjob.cgi?jobid=10321 Salary $51,290.00 to $58,511.52 annually Temporary Assignment to March 31, 2013 Bring your digital mapping expertise to this unique opportunity The Ministry of Energy and Mines is responsible for ensuring the province's energy and mineral resources are developed, produced and used in a safe, efficient and environmentally sound manner, and is the key agency responsible for the collection of government revenues in relation to energy and mineral resources (mineral, placer, and coal). The Mineral Titles Branch issues and administers mineral, placer and coal tenures under the authority of the Mineral Tenure Act and Coal Act (the “Acts”) and related regulations and is responsible for the provincial registry services for these commodities. The registry services maintain title information and business transactions that are received via Mineral Titles Online (MTO), an Internet-based mineral titles registry for mineral and placer tenure and in the MIDA registry for coal tenure. These registries are relied upon by industry, government, the public and other agencies as being an accurate record of sub-surface titles in the Province. As the Spatial Analyst, you lead technical projects to support research and planning activities by conceptualizing, designing, developing and executing advanced spatial analysis and presentation that integrates data from diverse sources. Working on complex projects under high pressure, you apply your Geographic Information Systems (ESRI ArcGIS) database (Oracle) expertise and formal training in the use of scientific analytical processes and methods to gather digital data from a range of subject areas. Your high attention to detail is required for performing advanced spatial and statistical analysis to develop databases used in spatial analysis processes.
