OPEN ACCESS DAY
________________
Concordia University Libraries will be taking part in the world’s first international Open Access Day (http://openaccessday.org), which will be held on Tuesday, October 14.
Open access literature is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. The founding partners of Open Access Day are
SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition),
Students for FreeCulture, and the
Public Library of Science.
Faculty can most directly support the Open Access movement by joining the growing number of academics who choose to publish in Open Access Journals or deposit their research output in Open Access depositories. For further details, please visit the Libraries web site:
Or drop in to the Vanier or Webster Library between 1 and 5 pm on Tuesday, October 14, when faculty, students and staff will be given the opportunity to learn more including how to search for open access content, and how to support further initiatives.
Thank you for your attention.
