Hey Gang;
I was invited to speak on Alan Neal's CBC Radio drive home show - All in A Day today to talk about Open Data in the City of Ottawa. I am slated to be interviewed some time after 3 PM. I will try and get an MP3 of the recording, but that is not always possible. It might be good for someone to record it so that we may share it (providing I do a good job of course) with our officials. Cheers Tracey -- Tracey P. CBC has kindly sent me the MP3 if the interview. I think it was pretty good. They wanted me to make it tangible for people and I think I did that. Let me know you want a copy. Please consider that this is a CBC MP3, so be thougthful with how you disseminate it and make it accessible. (e.g. attribution CBC All in a Day hosted by Alan Neal (http://www.cbc.ca/allinaday/), linking back to all in a day and maybe linking to the podcast).
Also, The Ottawa Citizen and the Ottawa Sun covered City of Ottawa Open Data today. I provide the links below and have pdf copies for anyone who wants them for their records. Thanks all! Also, last update, sorry for the flurry of emails today, it has been unusually exciting in the Nation's Capital!
The Le Droit also covered the story today. CivicAccess and AccesCivique were explicitly referred to on CBC, the Ottawa Sun, Le Droit and I expect the City of Ottawa minutes from yesterday's meeting. And for the record, Alan Neal talked about a number of things today on the show, bad dating, theater, staying off the ice were topics of the day, and when he announced the show's lineup he stated "we are going from bad dating to good data on the show today!". Hmmm! Le Droit: La Ville d’Ottawa compte devenir plus transparente – La capitale veut mettre en place une politique d’accès libre à ses données, par Dominique La Haye, 2 mars 2010. The issue hit all the Ottawa big daylies, french and english, and the drive home show! On Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 5:47 PM, Michael Lenczner <[hidden email]> wrote: Wow. Congratulations, Tracey!
