Here is the report that will be discussed. Change Camp on July 10 is considered a consultation process and it looks like the App contest will be announced then too!

REPORT RECOMMENDATIONThat the Information Technology Sub Committee recommend that Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee receive this report for information. RECOMMANDATION DU RAPPORTQue le Sous-comité de la technologie de l’information recommande au Comité des services organisationnels et du développement économique de prendre connaissance du présent rapport. BACKGROUNDIn a memo to Chair and Members, Corporate Services & Economic Development Committee (File ACS2010-COS-ITS-0005), dated April 30, 2010, a commitment was made to share finalized Open Data application contest criteria with the Information Technology Sub Committee on Monday June 21, 2010. This commitment was based on the expectation that staff would consult with both public and internal stakeholders on the draft contest criteria. DISCUSSION To date staff have engaged internal stakeholders on the Open Data initiative and contest criteria, and are working with members of the public to organize a public consultation event, scheduled for Saturday July 10, to take place at City Hall. At this time, we request that the Open Data contest criteria be shared with members of the Information Technology Sub Committee following the July 10 public consultation, to ensure opportunities for broad public engagement, and to develop contest criteria that accurately reflect the interests and needs of both staff and the public. -- Tracey P.
