With recent flooding forcing thousands to evacuate homes and causing substantial damage that will likely take years to repair, Albertans spirits aren't dampened. The province's signature event - the Calgary Stampede - is not being cancelled despite the grounds being situated along the swollen Elbow River. This week is dedicated to The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth for having survived two World Wars, a Great Depression, and flooding without having to cancel an event in 101 years.
