I put a plug in for lots of things, critical investigative reporting for one, but also for more data, data visualization and telling stories with numbers, more science reporting and content being shared under more open licensing regimes. Looks like we have lots ahum, current gov. commenting, so, if you like the CBC and you want it to stay, these consultations could be one way for you to have a say.
The CRTC is getting ready to review CBC's broadcast licence and is doing an online consultation now. You'll find it at
http://www.cbc-consultation.ca/welcome/. You will be able to see other people's responses to the questions and add your response to them as well as answer the questions yourself.
The questions they are asking are:
Does the CBC’s programming meet all of these objectives?
How can the CBC be relevant and meaningful in the future?
What more (or less) should it be doing?
What should it do differently?
Should the CBC only provide different programs and services than private broadcasters?
How can the CBC best deliver content to all Canadians?
Do you feel the CBC reflects your specific Canadian interests and needs?
We can assume that others are rallying their people to respond in ways that will undermine the CBC so it is important that supporters put in their two cents.
